Frequently asked questions

What is a Lychee?

Lychees are a subtropical fruit, often called “the king of fruits”.

It is an oval to round shaped fruit roughly the size of a walnut. It is has a thin, red bumpy skin that is easy to peel. Once peeled, a white, juicy translucent ball of firm jelly-like flesh is revealed which that surrounds a shiny brown seed.

The flesh is sweet and delicately flavoured with a texture similar to a grape.

When are Lychees available?

Lychee growing season starts from December to February. Just in time those summer months and Christmas!

I am a local, can I collect the lychees from your farm?

Yes, lychees are available from our farm. Address: 221 Valdora Rd Valdora, Sunshine Coast.

I am not local to the Sunshine Coast, can I get some of these Lychees sent to me?

Yes, we can post you lychees!
We endeavour to provide you with only the freshest lychees. To do this, we only post on Mondays and Tuesdays to the eastern states of Australia on the mainland (QLD, NSW, VIC and ACT) to postal addresses only.
This is to eliminate your fresh lychees sitting with the postal service over the weekend.
Sorry, no PO Boxes or other states not mentioned above.

How are my Lychees packed?

Your lychees will be picked in the cool of the morning, processed and packed and cooled to 5 degrees celsius.
They will dispatched to you via express post on the same day. We post on Mondays and Tuesdays.

How should I store my Lychees?

Gamble Family Lychees suggest that you store your lychees in an airtight container in the fridge.

Do you offer farm tours?

Unfortunately we cannot offer farm tours due to it being a busy working farm and Workplace Health and Safety Regulations.
